Homes For Sale In Payson
Payson is located about 16 miles south on the I-15 from Provo. The town of about 20,000 people was originally named Peteetneet Creek, after Chief Peteetneet, an Indian chief who lived near the town’s current location. It was eventually renamed Payson, due to the difficulty of pronunciation and spelling the original name.
Payson hosts a few annual events each year including Onion Days, the Scottish Festival, and the Salmon Supper. These events bring out Payson’s residents and many locals from surrounding areas. The fabulous Payson, Utah LDS Temple has been a nice addition to the city. Since its dedication in 2015, home values and commerce in this formerly sleepy town have been a welcomed increase for many residents.
The south county location of Payson allows you to get more bang for your buck on the real estate front. A larger and newer home will be more affordable here than up north.
